The pictures tell a thousand worlds....

Yes, you read that correctly.  A Thousand Worlds.  That's sometimes how I feel about the life that my tree has taken on.  Each segment being a different world for which I get to glimpse into for a few fleeting moments.

I recently received some photos and documents that I've never seen from a cousin. While I love documents, the old photos show me things and clues that I might possibly never figure out with a written word.  My dad used to sit and watch movies with my mom and I.  Mom would get so mad at him when he'd start talking about all the old cars and interrupting the movie.  To him, the car told the story behind the story. Often, it told his story, or his dad's story.

What do you see in the worlds of each of your photos? Explore that question and enjoy your Adventures in Genealogy!

Recently heard about the Katy-Did crash and learned my family moved to the farm at the crash site shortly afterwards. I learned the plane was not removed from the site and was told my dad who had learned metalsmithing in the Navy made useful items from the aircraft's parts. I inherited several baking pans and at least one skillet that are made from the metal. Other family members still have some of the items. My family members who are still living are interested in sharing what they remember about living alongside the crash site. Also, I might consider giving my skillet and pans to someone who will treasure them as much as I have.

Joyce,
Thanks so much for writing this. I didn't get a chance to meet you at the dedication but I saw your letter. Each of the families took a copy of it home. I wish I had had a chance to talk to you and see them. Please feel free to send me an email! I'd love to add a photo of them, and a copy of your letter to my page. I'd love to add any of their stories to this dedication page here as well! Thank you so much for sharing that with Kathy and Cookie that day!
