Adventures in Genealogy - Genealogy on Higher Ground
Links of Interest to a Genealogist
Most used Websites:
www.ancestry.com - You can search ancestry.com for free for some items. Subscription is required for viewing articles and original documents. 2017 version of FTM syncs all your apps together with the ancestry.com site and mobile apps. Gotta love that!
iPhone and PC apps: billiongraves.com - This iPhone app (and website) allows cemetery transcribers to take gps located photos and upload them directly to the website saving genealogists time manually transcribing while at the cemetery. This also gives gps coordinates of the cemeteries, adds it to the database and includes all photos taken while there into that database automatically. Later, you can go online and transcribe the photos information so that it is searchable for others as well. LOVE this. It's my new fav app! Ancestry.com - iPhone App. Gotta love having your tree accessible anywhere you go now without carrying your laptop along. Any changes made are reflected on your tree. Other Links:
My friend Wayne's Cemetery site - Here you will find Southern Tennessee and Northern Alabama Cemetery listings. Including links to this site! Check it out! Cyndi's List - A well known "I've been around forever" website with all the useful information that genealogists alike love. |
Most Used Program:
www.familytreemaker.com - I have used FTM since 2004. I love this program and Highly recommend it. It also connects to ancestry.com through the program directly
