In search of Thomas J....

He's a mystery. This is not his tombstone. Nor are any of the other dozen T J, Thomas J, J Thomas or other combinations of the name and initials.

What do yo do when you can't find how, when, where or why someone died?  Well, you keep looking right?

In family history research, you often have to have a ton of patience, a lot of perseverance, and quite a bit of humor to make it to the next level.  In my case, I have documented each individual so that if I find connections to the tree, I can attach them without all the searching again. But, still no TJ found.

When you are out there searching and you find everything BUT the thing you are looking for, keep in the forefront of your mind that they are playing with you... Just pretend for a moment that Mr. TJ is playing this silly little game of hide and seek....

and have a little fun with your Adventures in Genealogy!!

This is Mr. Thomas Duke born in Georgia and died in Hanover, Alabama. He is buried in "Chapple" Hanover Cemetery.

His wife is Matilda E Dendy born Carter Hill, Alabama and died in Goodwater, Alabama. Buried in Andrews Chapel.

Thomas's Parents were Edmund Duke and Susannah _Not Known by me_. As far as I am aware, he had 5 sisters and one brother, but I've not connected the father Edmund to my tree yet. The Georgia Clan is elusive to me and not many of them have been successfully attached in MY tree.
