The power of Social Media

Today it is easier than ever to find information. Many of us use social media to stay connected to family and friends. Increasingly, I find myself connecting with distant cousins that I have found through social media. Similar research groups pop up on a regular basis making it easy to share the ties between you.

This week, I've found a couple cousins. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one out there interested in researching my family history, and it's also nice to know that some of them are even related to me! 

I'm pretty thankful for the connections made this week. I was able to get a tidbit of information on each branch that opened up my wall. When you are out there researching, don't forget to do a little place name search on Facebook and see who else looked for it and what "likes" they have. Do a little exploring and you may just find your cousin too.
