Let me tell you that I am NOT the most organized person. But I do try some things to keep physical papers organized. I'm fairly successful with those types of things. When it comes to being organized in my mind, not so much.
I often times will start the day off on one track, find a tidbit of information then suddenly realize I've not been doing what my goal for the day was. I find this is probably my biggest down fall. If I had one piece of advice for new researchers, it would be to work slowly. I know that the information sometimes comes in large quantities, but take one baby step at a time and work on one person until you've exhausted all things for that person. It's not about quantity, it's about quality. Keep your organizational skills in tip top shape! that's the key to success in your adventures in genealogy! Michel
